A change in strategy from direct to indirect education was required to prevent morbidity and mortality during the Covid-19 pandemic. Disseminated through digital and social media platforms are ideal to get the message across to the community at large. NCDAL are actively involve in creating awareness videos and messages. These videos and messages created in all three languages.
YouTube awareness video on “ NCDs and COVID 19” – This was an initiative undertaken to educate persons living with NCDs [PLWNCDs] and the general public about the coronavirus Covid-19 and to stress the fact that PLWNCDs are more likely to get infected with the virus due to reduced immunity.
YouTube awareness on “ Mental Health: The Next Pandemic” is to highlight the residual impact of the Covid-19 and the resultant mental health pandemic that may take its place globally.
At present, everyone is engulfed with fear and anxiety as a result of the uncertainty, loss of livelihoods and ever-increasing inflation. This anxiety and fear impact on our Mental Health drastically!. NCDAL created this second video to highlight symptoms of deteriorating mental health, the need to recognize and accept it and simple methods to cope in these circumstances.
